How Much Does Ahrefs Cost in 2026, Plan by Plan?
Ahrefs pricing starts at $29/month for Starter, then climbs to $129/month for Lite, $249 for Standard and $449 for Advanced, with Enterprise at $1,499/month on an annual commitment. Those figures are monthly rates: the pay-annually option was switched off on the pricing page captured on October 12, 2026.
What matters
- Ahrefs lists monthly prices by default. A browser check on October 12, 2026 showed the 'pay annually, save up to 17%' checkbox off, so Lite, Standard and Advanced list at $129, $249 and $449 per month.
- Every plan includes one user. Extra seats cost $40, $60, $80 and $100 per user per month on Lite, Standard, Advanced and Enterprise, and Ahrefs charges them automatically.
- Lite allows 1,000 credits per user per month and 100,000 crawl credits. Standard, Advanced and Enterprise drop the credit cap but still meter crawl credits at 500,000, 1.5 million and 5 million.
- The $29 Starter plan gets 200 credits a month, cannot buy extra users or credits, renews monthly only, and cannot be reached by downgrading from a paid plan.
- Ahrefs says it never runs discounts or free trials. The free route is an Ahrefs Free account with limited Site Explorer and Site Audit access.
Ahrefs pricing in 2026: four paid tiers
Ahrefs sells four paid tiers. Lite is $129 per month, Standard is $249, Advanced is $449, and Enterprise is $1,499 with an annual commitment required. A separate Starter plan sits below them at $29 per month, and an Ahrefs Free account covers limited access to Site Explorer and Site Audit.
The number most people get wrong is the billing period. Ahrefs' pricing page carries a 'pay annually, save up to 17%' checkbox, and when we loaded the page in a browser on October 12, 2026 that box was unchecked. The $129, $249 and $449 figures are therefore month-to-month rates, not annual equivalents. Official annual rates are not published on the page at all: Ahrefs' own FAQ says to contact support if you want to switch, so the honest estimate for annual billing is about $107, $207 and $373 per month using the stated 17% saving.
Two more pricing rules matter before you budget. Ahrefs states plainly that it never runs discounts, so there is no Black Friday or first-year promo to wait for. And additional users are billed on a pay-as-you-go basis rather than being folded into the plan price.
Lite vs Standard vs Advanced: where the limits bite
The price ladder is easy. The limits are where the plans actually separate, and the first one is credits. Lite includes 1,000 credits per user per month, while Standard, Advanced and Enterprise list unlimited credits per user. Credits are consumed when you open reports and request fresh data from most core tools, which is why Lite is the tier that punishes heavy research days; Ahrefs' own Starter documentation explains that mechanism, and adds that Site Audit and Rank Tracker do not consume credits because they run on their own limits.
The second limit is crawling. Site Audit crawl credits run at 100,000 per month on Lite, 500,000 on Standard, 1.5 million on Advanced and from 5 million on Enterprise, with maximum pages per project of 25,000, 50,000, 250,000 and 5 million respectively. Rank Tracker covers 750, 2,000, 5,000 and from 10,000 keywords on weekly updates. Rows per report step up from 2,500 to 30,000, 75,000 and 150,000.
AI tracking is bundled rather than sold by most competitors. Tracked prompts are 5, 10, 20 and from 83 across the tiers, with Brand Radar checks per month of 150, 300, 600 and from 2,500. Every plan on the comparison table shows daily update frequency for those prompts. If your job is showing up in ChatGPT and AI Overviews, the 5-prompt ceiling on Lite is the real reason to step up.
What a three-person team actually pays
Seat prices change the ranking of the plans, because only one user is included anywhere below Enterprise. Adding two more users to Lite costs $40 each, so a three-person team lands at $129 plus $80, or $209 per month. On Standard the same team pays $249 plus $120, or $369. On Advanced it is $449 plus $160, or $609.
Enterprise is the exception: it includes from three users and charges $100 per additional user, with no cap on the number of seats. That structure makes Enterprise the only tier where a large content team does not pay a per-seat premium on top of a small allowance.
The practical read is that a three-person team on Lite pays $209 per month and still shares 1,000 credits per user, while the cheapest way to get unlimited credits is Standard at $249 for a single seat. If two people are doing the research and the third only checks reports, Lite plus two seats is the better buy. If all three are pulling data daily, the credit cap will bite before the seat saving does.
Starter and Ahrefs Free: the cheap end of Ahrefs pricing
The $29 Starter plan is credit-based with 200 credits a month. It includes the SEO Dashboard, Site Explorer, Keywords Explorer, Site Audit, Rank Tracker, the SEO Toolbar, Web Analytics and Social Media Manager. Keywords Explorer and Rank Tracker are not part of Ahrefs Free, so Starter is the first tier where rank tracking exists at all.
Ahrefs attaches strings that the pricing card does not show. Starter cannot buy additional users, credits or other add-ons; it renews monthly only; you cannot downgrade to it from Lite or higher; and Ahrefs reserves the right to change its features and limits without notice. Treat it as a try-before-you-commit tier, not a place to build a workflow.
Ahrefs Free stays available underneath: it gives website owners limited access to Site Explorer and Site Audit, and Ahrefs notes there is no free trial and no discount on paid plans. Brand Radar can be bought as a standalone tool, and that purchase includes an Ahrefs Free account.
Add-ons that change the bill
Two line items break the tidy $129 to $1,499 story. Brand Radar, the AI prompt tracking product, starts at $199 per month on its own. If you only need prompt tracking, its custom packages are cheaper: Basic is $50 per month with 2,500 extra checks and overage at $0.020 per check, Growth is $100 per month with 7,000 checks at $0.015, and Scale is $250 per month with 25,000 checks at $0.010. Ahrefs bills overage at the end of the billing month.
Project-level add-ons attach per project rather than per account. Project Boost Pro is $20 per month per project and adds IndexNow submission, always-on site audit at 10 pages per minute, instant recrawl and AI detection across 1,000 URLs per crawl. Project Boost Max is $200 per month per project and raises that to 30 pages per minute, unlimited URLs for AI detection, batch AI in Site Audit and patches.
Content Kit starts at $99 per month and Report Builder is $99 per month. A team that wants AI content tooling, cleaner reports and faster audits on two projects is looking at several hundred dollars above the plan price, which is the gap between the advertised tier and the real invoice.
Ahrefs vs Semrush pricing
Semrush rebuilt its lineup in 2026 and now quotes annual figures next to monthly ones. Free is $0 with one demo project and 10 reports per day. SEO is $117.33 per month billed annually or $139 monthly, with 5 websites to monitor and 500 keywords tracked daily. Starter is $165.17 annually or $199 monthly. Pro+ is $248.17 annually or $299 monthly, with 15 websites and 1,500 keywords. Advanced is $455.67 annually or $549 monthly, with 40 websites and 5,000 keywords.
Put the two side by side and the headline prices are close: Ahrefs Lite at $129 monthly against Semrush SEO at $139 monthly, or about $107 versus $117.33 if both are billed annually. The difference is what each counts. Ahrefs sells unlimited verified projects on every paid tier but meters credits on Lite, while Semrush counts websites and daily keywords. Semrush also publishes its annual discount as a number on the page; Ahrefs hides it behind a support request.
For a single site owner the decision usually comes down to seats and credits rather than the sticker price. For an agency watching 40 client sites, Semrush Advanced at $455.67 monthly-equivalent and Ahrefs Advanced at $449 are functionally the same money, and the choice belongs to whichever workflow the team already knows.
Which Ahrefs plan should you buy?
- Try Starter ($29) if you need rank tracking or Keywords Explorer once in a while and can live with 200 credits and no extra seats.
- Take Lite ($129) if a single person does the research, the 750 tracked keywords and 5 AI prompts cover your site, and you can work inside 1,000 credits per user.
- Step up to Standard ($249) for unlimited credits, 500,000 crawl credits and 2,000 tracked keywords, and add seats at $60 each.
- Go Advanced ($449) when you need 5,000 keywords, 1.5 million crawl credits and 250,000 pages per project, typically for several sites or an agency book.
- Talk to sales for Enterprise ($1,499) only for SSO, uncapped API access, unlimited historical data and the three-included-seat model. There is no self-serve path to it.

FAQ
Is Ahrefs pricing per month or per year?
The figures on Ahrefs' pricing page are monthly: Lite $129, Standard $249, Advanced $449 and Enterprise $1,499. A pay-annually option claiming savings of up to 17% sits above the plans and was unchecked on October 12, 2026, so annual billing lowers those numbers rather than the reverse. Ahrefs asks you to contact support to switch billing periods.
Is there a free Ahrefs plan?
Yes, an Ahrefs Free account gives website owners limited access to Site Explorer and Site Audit at no cost. Ahrefs states that it never runs discounts or free trials, and the cheapest paid route is the $29 per month Starter plan with 200 credits a month and no option to buy extra users or credits.
Is Ahrefs cheaper than Semrush?
On list price they are within a few dollars of each other: Ahrefs Lite is $129 per month against Semrush SEO at $139 per month, or $117.33 if you pay annually. Ahrefs Lite covers unlimited verified projects with a 1,000-credit monthly cap, while Semrush SEO monitors 5 websites and 500 keywords daily, so compare the limits you will hit rather than the stickers.
